This restaurant has been here for a long time. I probably ate here over 20 years ago. My fried bologna sandwich was one of the best I ever had. Got it with “all the way”. Next time I will try “Southern”. We also got the freshly made chips. Try the Vidalla Onion Dip. My wife really enjoyed her cheese steak. Our waitress, Tammy M. was very friendly and very helpful. Thanks for the great lunch! We highly recommend this restaurant.

I've lived in charlotte all my life. I've never had service or watched such a train wreck that seemed acceptable to only the staff. Looking at the menu you would believe that its a restaurant its not just a dive bar. After cleaning our table ourselves we were told we didn't need to do that. I dont enjoy eating in others filth. I would have loved to try the food we never got it. They were out of everything except the dive bar specials the place was not close to being busy. Save your money and dont waste your time. You and your friends deserve better. You've been warned.
I'm no foodie. I crave ambiance with a side of food. And Diamond just bleeds the vibe of a genuine kitschy old school diner owned by Social Distortion fans. Like, polite AND raw. Bartender recommended his homemade hot sauce to add to my Diablo Chicken Philly, which was a perfect messy glorious sammy. And one of the servers shared her pride in Plaza. Because Plaza Midwood is a place of distinct specific character!

I’ve been eating here for a long time, and this most recent time was because I was visiting Charlotte, and I never want to pass up an opportunity to get some good food at the best place in town! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu here, it’s all really good! I’ll be back next time I come through Charlotte, and you should definitely check them out too if you haven’t yet…
