Predatory Financial Practices: Compounding Debt, Pre-Due Date Harassment, and Systemic Misconduct Bank of America is engaging in predatory, bad-faith financial tactics against my client. Unlike responsible lenders who offer hardship agreements to work with consumers, Bank of America flat-out refuses to negotiate or provide standard hardship relief. Instead, they are actively burying my client under compounding debt. My client continues to make good-faith monthly payments of $219. Rather than offering assistance, BofA actually increased her APR by 2%. This rate hike compounded her $6,700 balance past $7,000, creating an inescapable debt trap. To make matters worse, BofA subjected her to aggressive collection pressure and constant harassment before her bill was even past due. Calling a customer with collection threats before a payment deadline is pure intimidation. This behavior aligns with Bank of America's long, documented track record of severe regulatory violations and active class-action lawsuits: Impending SEC & OCC AML Action: Facing major monetary penalties over systemic anti-money laundering and transaction-monitoring failures. $2.25M ATM Fee Settlement (Schertzer v. BofA): Pending court approval for allegedly double-charging out-of-network inquiry fees. Credit Card Autopay Lawsuit (Sdoucos v. BofA): Active litigation alleging BofA double-bills credit card users on automated payments. Force-Placed Flood Insurance: Class action targeting BofA’s practice of forcing unnecessary flood insurance onto mortgage holders. Municipal & Bond Price-Fixing: Major class actions accusing BofA of market manipulation, reaching the U.S. Supreme Court. CFPB & OCC Enforcement Actions: Past multi-hundred-million-dollar penalties for junk fees and fake accounts. Do not do business with Bank of America.

I have been a Bank of America customer for over 10 years, and this experience was extremely disappointing. After I became a victim of a fraudulent transaction, Bank of America denied my claim and offered little to no assistance. Instead of protecting a long-time customer, they essentially told me to deal directly with the merchant on my own. I provided all the information available to me, yet the bank showed no interest in conducting a meaningful investigation. When you need support the most, don’t expect Bank of America to be on your side. Very disappointed with how this situation was handled.

These people are disgusting.. I have been fighting with them since November over an AI phishing scheme that I contacted them immediately to stop the charges on my account. The fraudsters sent me a bag full of garbage and say it’s a valid order. They used AI likenesses of Sam Elliott and Snoop Dogg to sell their product through a holistic doctor in Sedona, Arizona. It’s all fake. They sent me a bunch of stuff I didn’t order and to top it all off the Bank of America, after denying my claim, and reopening it In second time upon my request, they Reopened it and I sent additional documentation but They did not freeze the account they submitted to all credit bureaus that I had been delinquent and my credit score dropped 86 Points. I have been fighting with them for nine months. They’re like a broken record. They keep saying it was a valid transaction. It was not there was no vendor to contact. They did not email me anything. All they did was steal My money and the Bank of America is supporting them. They literally make me sick to my stomach. I have been a customer for 29 years and this is what they’ve done to me. They are disgusting. They represent everything that is wrong in this country-Support criminals and the rich and ruin regular peoples lives. They are soulless.

I contacted customer service because I paid my statement balance and expected my account balance to be $0, but there was still a small charge. The representative explained that it was “carryover” or residual interest from the previous billing cycle. While I understand that’s how credit card interest works, it’s confusing and doesn’t seem very transparent. What really disappointed me was the customer service experience. When I commented that this is how credit card companies make billions, the representative abruptly ended the chat without fully addressing my concerns or making sure all of my questions were answered. I wasn’t expecting special treatment—just a complete explanation and professional customer service. That interaction left a poor impression.

I do not recommend Bank of America. I just see that they charge so much for international fees, and also they did not want to accept that there is a glitch in the system. While I was exploring the option of getting a montly custom plan, and wanted to find out how much it would cost, it automatically signed me up. I called and a person from their team told me that by paying the complete balance in the credit card, I would not have to pay the fee for the custom plan. I paid the full amount of my finantial credit card statement but they are still charging me the $6.54 per month. This is going to be for three or four months. I am not at all happy with their abusive actions, and so I will proceed to cancel all the accounts possible with them.
